Performing Arts Scholarship Acknowledgement

Criteria for eligibility that all music scholarship (instrumental and vocal) recipients must meet annually:


  1. Have completed the application for admission and financial aid and been accepted for full-time study (12 or more credit hours).
  2. Maintain full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours).
  3. Maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average for all courses.
  4. Maintain enrollment and active participation in assigned vocal or instrumental ensemble.
  5. Maintain enrollment and active participation in private music lessons each semester (which are an extra cost of $340 per credit hour).
  6. Must satisfy all requirements to be a music major or minor, if applicable (see Music Major handbook).
  7. Must enroll in MUS101 Fundamentals of Music Theory or MUS150 Music Theory I during first four (4) semesters at USF.


Student may forfeit all or a portion of their music scholarship for violation of one or more of the following:


  1. Do not meet the above criteria.
  2. Drop out of the music program.
  3. Is released from the music program by a college official as a result of disciplinary action.


Student is expected to fulfill the following requirements to remain in good standing:


  1. Attend and participate in all regularly scheduled rehearsals for the full duration unless excused by special permission of the music faculty. It is implicit with this agreement that the student and/or member of the music faculty will not allow employment or other circumstances interfere (on a regular basis) with this responsibility.
  2. Attend all scheduled music performances as designated by the music faculty.

  1. Have completed the application for admission and financial aid and been accepted for full-time study (12 or more credit hours).
  2. Maintain full-time enrollment (12 or more credit hours).
  3. Maintain a 2.0 cumulative grade point average for all courses.
  4. Must participate in Set Load-Ins and Set Load-Outs for every main stage production.
  5. Must enroll in CST200, Introduction to Theatre, during the first semester on scholarship.
  6. Must participate in theatre shop (painting, lighting, scenic and/or costume). Students can take this for credit by enrolling in CST117.
  7. Maintain enrollment and active participation in theatre auditions and/or performances.
